O.M. Shaker Lives!

3–2–1 We have lift off!!  Welcome to the Ombibulous Muddled Shaker blog spot (O.M. Shaker for short), a place for me to share my love of everything food, drink, and an active lifestyle with you, my friends.  My name is Damon and I can’t wait to start this new journey with you!

If you have ever dreamed of mixin’ up the perfect liquid libation that you sip away at your favorite watering hole, but have never crossed the threshold of learning how to make the perfect drink, then welcome home.  If you watch the talented world traveler Samantha Brown on the Travel Channel and thought to yourself ” I can do that, how do I get her job?!” , then welcome home. If you ever wanted to compete in “that race” but felt you weren’t  ‘made’ for it, then welcome home.

O.M. Shaker is all about exploring what you may have thought was impossible.  I have learned through personal experience  that you don’t  have to have paper credentials to be skilled at something.  Although I have a culinary background myself, I have had very little formal training.  My friends would tell you a different story, and might go as far as throwing the word ‘chef’ around in my direction.  However I back away from that term because of my lack of credentials, so I’ll stick with ‘Home Chef’.

Regardless of what you might call me, I know one thing for sure, the kitchen is where I go for therapy.  Whether I’m cooking up a meal or mixing up that perfect concoction for family and friends, I believe everyone should be able to do this without the stress.  I firmly believe  that if a person can read a recipe, then they can mix a drink or cook a meal (to a certain degree, and with a little help), there is little more to it than that, well heart and desire help also, but that comes with time.  Through O.M. Shaker, I plan to provide food and drink recipes, restaurant reviews, along with first-hand travel experiences.

In a couple of weeks, my Beautiful Bright Eyes (aka my wife) will be taking an epic journey across the states.  I will share our experiences with you and possibly inspire you to step out of your comfort zone.
